Since the new year just started, I decided to collect my research on internet marketing strategies from 2014 and read up on some predictions for the new year. Indeed, 2014 was a year of ups and downs; there were online marketing trends that suddenly became extremely popular and there were some that completely died down. Here are a few I shortlisted from my research that are expected to be the best ones in 2015!
Over 2014, it was not difficult to see how tools for market research became the most popular marketing strategy. This is expected to increase in 2015, and experts believe that marketing analytics technologies are expected to increase by up to 50%! Needless to say, it really will give producers a better idea about what consumers want, and the quality of products will go up.
If there is one thing every market research consultant preached through 2014, it was the emphasis on the quality of content being provided. The modern day consumer is smart enough to not fall for poorly planned advertisement campaigns, and in order to get consumer trust you need to provide something in return. This can be creative content that is somehow useful to them instead of spamming them with ads. This is expected to continue in 2015 marketing trends, with more and more providers conducting market research and devising market strategy on how to provide useful content.
Videos, videos, videos!
As an online market research consultant, I cannot stress on this enough. With more and more people using the internet, the market is bigger than ever, and so is the need for the best marketing strategy. Marketing trends are, therefore, changing. Since more people would watch videos than read text ads, and since visual story-telling can be more impactful, it is what your marketing goal for 2015 should be! However, for this to succeed in 2015, it must be made sure that these videos provide useful content and are not merely loaded with annoying promotional content.
Internet and mobile ads
While television and physical ads continue to exist, they are no match for the steep rise in internet and mobile ads. Whether on different websites and mobile applications, advertisements have become a major part of marketing strategy, and this is expected to continue to increase in 2015. Researchers believe, and I as a market research consultant agree, that there can be about a 10% increase in hypersegmentation in advertisements. This means that the target market options that are offered on platforms like Facebook will increase, and you will be able to reach out to your target market more specifically than ever before.
Any market research consultant will be able to tell you that there is a high chance of the mobile web becoming bigger than the computer web in 2015. With more and more people using mobiles and tablets, and with newer technologies being incorporated into these every day, there is almost no need for reaching out for a computer. All websites in 2015 will, therefore, be designed according to mobile phones after thorough market research, rather than just providing a simple mobile version along with the main version. Indeed it can be seen that the internet is not only becoming simpler but also more convenient because of these changing marketing trends!
If you are just beginning to devise a marketing strategy for your business, it is extremely imperative that you look into the marketing trends forecasted for 2015. If you would like to discuss these with me, feel free to comment below!
